This 51’ 3¾” riveted side mechanical reefer is painted light blue with aluminum roof and ends, and black lettering. Pepsi icons from the 1940s, ‘Pepsi & Pete’ dominate the sides of this car. These characters, developed by the Newell Emmett Agency were originally named ‘Sarge & Large.’ Company president, Walter Mack, changed the names and began using the ‘Cops’ extensively—including Sunday comics and animated shorts in movie theaters—to promote the soft drink.
