The United States Railway Equipment Company of Washington, Indiana built ‘ROCK 57607’ in December 1951. When rebuilt in June 1975, the 40’ standard box car with single door had its roofwalk removed, but the ladders were left at full length. It was then repainted in Rock Island blue and lettered in black. The roofwalk removal was part of an industry-wide effort to make rolling stock safer, and though the ladders were left full length, a warning to stay off the roof was applied near them. This car was previously released in July 1990 as #24010 and is now released as #73020 in order to better reflect the prototype.
