This insulated 50’ standard box car with double plug doors was built in October of 1965. When serviced in October 1983, the roofwalk was removed and it was painted dark blue with yellow lettering, including the modern logo. At 75 years old this year, the railroad purchased eight new state-of-the-art EMD locomotives to provide quality transportation in Alaska for another 75. The main line extends from Anchorage to Fairbanks, 356 miles, with routes from Anchorage to Steward and Whittier as well.
