On December 14, 2001, Wisconsin & Southern unveiled three 50' standard box cars with double plug doors, and without roofwalk which were specially painted to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001, and to celebrate the solidarity of the American people. They are painted W&S brown with white lettering and logo. Number WSOR 503081 bears the slogan, ‘A Day America Will Never Forget,’ and a red, white and blue image of the tattered American flag that was recovered from the site of the World Trade Center. Number WSOR 503143 bears the slogan, ‘No One Comes Close,’ and a silver and blue United States Air Force emblem. Number WSOR 503144 bears the slogan, ‘God Bless America,’ and a red, white and blue image of the American flag.
