This 50’
standard box car with double doors is green with yellow and white
lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in the early 1940s
and rebuilt in July 1963, this car was used to advertise the Agency
for International Development’s ‘Bulgur for Brazil – Food for
Peace’ campaign, in association with Kansas wheat farmers. Founded
in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America
up until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form
BNSF.
