This
flatcar with Roller Bearing trucks was built in the late 1960s
and ended up lettered for the Galveston Railroad under Golden
West Service. The car was designed to carry lumber, structural
steel and pipes, as well as logs and other long commodities.
The reinforced bulkheads provide load protection as well as
prevent shifting during transit. The Golden West Service program
was mostly unsuccessful and relatively short-lived.
