This
3-bay covered hopper with Barber Roller Bearing trucks was built
by Magor Car in the late 1960s for the Southern Railway. It
eventually made its way into the Norfolk Southern roster of
cars, and was repainted, but retained the SOU reporting mark.
The Southern Railway was a Class 1 railroad that operated over
6,000 miles of track across the southern United States from
1894-1982. Today, it is now part of the Norfolk Southern system
following a 1980 merger with Norfolk & Western Railway.
