This ex-Pennsylvania
Railroad G33-class 65’ mill gondola with Bettendorf trucks was
built in 1949 and was designed to haul finished structural steel
shapes and other bulky loads. It featured drop ends that allowed
the gondola to carry loads longer than the car. Penn Central was
formed through the merger of Pennsylvania Railroad and New York
Central, and operated until 1976 when it was rolled into Conrail
Corporation. |
