This 83’ heavyweight modernized
business car with balloon roof is yellow with green roof and runs
on 6-wheel passenger car trucks. Built in 1925 and named Monte
Viso, then in 1926 it was purchased by Baltimore & Ohio and
ran as “Capitol Road” until 1948, when it was acquired
by Chicago & North Western, numbered “400,” and
repainted into the yellow and green scheme. Today, C&NW is
now part of Union Pacific, exclusively a freight railroad with
over 32,000 miles of track, but prior to 1971, C&NW operated
numerous passenger trains and services. |
