Norfolk
and Western Car # 402 was an important part of the N&W's
safety and accident prevention program. This Safety-First Car
consistently traveled all over railroad educating thousands
of employees every year on accident prevention. The NW Car changed
from #4002 diner to #402 Safety Inspection Car on 5/19/1941
and was retired from this special job in 2/1969
