This
78’ heavyweight single-window coach is black with red band
and runs on Commonwealth 4-wheel passenger car trucks. Built
in 1929, this smoker car was outfitted with Heywood-Wakefield
brown leather seats and belonged to a series of 24 cars. It
was painted in the New Haven “New Image” black and
red paint scheme in the mid-1950s and the car was used until
the late 1960s.
