This
50 standard box car with 10 single door, no roofwalk
and short ladders is brown with white lettering and runs on
Bettendorf trucks. Built in the 1960s, this 4,888 cubic-foot
capacity boxcar was rebuilt in 1978 and repainted into the large
Conrail can opener scheme. New York Central merged
with its rival, the Pennsylvania Railroad, in 1968 to form Penn
Central, which went bankrupt two years later and was merged
into Conrail in 1976.
