A subsidiary
of TTX, Railbox was founded in 1974 to address a nationwide boxcar
shortage by creating a large pool of free-running boxcars seen
from coast to coast. Many of these cars are still running the
rails today, having been sold off to various other railroads and
repatched with new reporting marks and road numbers, often retaining
the old, weathered Railbox paint underneath.
